Catherine Creuzot-Garcher is currently the Head of the department of Ophthalmology and responsible of the outpatient surgical unit in University Hospital in Dijon.
She is Co-director of the unit “Oeil and Nutrition and signalisation” of INRA Dijon. Head of the Research Pole of the University Hospital since 2012 dealing with all research programs of the Hospital, she has been coordinator of 4 national clinical trial (PHRC) dedicated to retinal detachment (DOREFA), diabetic retinopathy (LIGHT), type 1 macular telangiectasia (TELEMAC) and Macula edema (EMMA) and 2 regional trials (dedicated to endophthalmitis and macular subretinal haemorrhage (STAR Study)). She is a member of E3 consortium dedicated to European epidemiological studies with MONTRACHET cohort.
She has been strongly involved in European teaching program and served as President of the European Board of Ophthalmology. She has been president of the COUF (College of the University Ophthalmologists of France) for 8 years. She has been vice secretary general of the SFO and president of the SFO. She has been secretary General of EVER (European Vision and Eye Research). She is secretary general of EUPO (European professor in ophthalmology) and President of the National University Council in Ophthalmology.
She has been awarded as Officier des palmes académiques in 2018 and Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 2013.
Her main field of interest are surgical retina, diabetic retinopathy and age macular degeneration. She is strongly involved in the Fight Retinal Blindness program and in EPISAFE consortium to use big data for safety analysis in Ophthalmology. She has been involved in more than 300 papers in Peer reviewed journals and 15 books.
