The Award
The Ramin Tadayoni Award aims to honour the legacy of Professor Ramin Tadayoni by recognising and supporting outstanding post-graduate scholars in the field of retina research.
This annual award of €30,000, plus an additional €5,000 the candidate, seeks to encourage innovative research with the potential to significantly advance the understanding and treatment of retinal diseases.
The award is supported by Oculis.
Eligibility Criteria
– Applicants must be post-doctoral or clinical fellows conducting research in the retina field in a specialised retinal unit or university hospital in a European country*.
– Applicants must hold an M.D. and/or Ph.D. and have completed their most recent doctoral degree or medical residency within the past ten years by the start of this award in 2025.

Applications for the award closed Monday 29th July 2024. The winning applicant will be chosen by a panel of leading retina specialists nominated by the EURETINA Board and Oculis.
*For the purposes of this award, a ‘European country’ includes all member states of the European Union (EU), countries within the European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Application Submission
Submissions must follow the structured format below:
– Title of Research Project
– Abstract/Summary of Research Project (200 Words Max)
– Research Proposal, a detailed description of the research, including objectives, methodology, and innovative impact on understanding/treatment of retinal diseases (1000 Words Max)
– Letter of Support from the head of your current department or institution, endorsing your research and qualifications
– Curriculum Vitae (CV) including a list of publications (highlighting the 5 most relevant publications), relevant work experience, and any previous awards or honours. (3 Pages Max)
